A motorbike was found 2km from where it was stolen, in less than 2 hours...

Last Friday, as we were sharing the story of the Africa Twin theft on social media, another Pegase user contacted us to tell us that our GPS tracker had helped find his motorbike the same day!

Once again, we were delighted to have accomplished our mission through this device. We naturally sought to know more about the circumstances of the theft, the model of the bike, etc...

Johann told us:

“I left my BMW R1250GS parked outside in Bourg-la-Reine. My mistake was forgetting to activate the Pegase anti-theft device. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had the unfortunate surprise of coming back just 2 hours later and discovering that my motorbike was gone!

It was 12.07 when I realised it was stolen.

I immediately had the reflex to open my Pegase application to locate my bike. It seemed to be parked in Cachan, just 2km away. So I called the police and shared the location with them. By the time I got there, the police were already on the scene!

By 1pm we had found my bike and found that the only damage was the Neiman - and fortunately, nothing more!

I had a Pegase on this motorbike for almost a year. I had decided to invest in this GPS tracker without subscription after my R1200GS was stolen from my garage last spring. The bike was never found.

So there was no question of the new one suffering the same fate, especially as GS bikes are particularly sought after these days... “

Thank you for sharing your story! And once again, thank you to the police for their efficiency!

How to choose a GPS tracker?
GPS trackers (sometimes referred to as "GPS tags”) are products designed to geolocate and track motorbikes, scooters, buggies, or ATVs equipped with 12V batteries in real time. Their accuracy is measured in "number of positions sent per second". As a result, Pegase and Flashbird are the most accurate on the market, sending up to 4 points per second. The autonomy of GPS trackers varies according to their internal battery and the use (or not) of the vehicle battery. Pegase and Flashbird are connected to a vehicle's battery, so they are being constantly recharged as soon as the engine is running, which gives them unlimited autonomy, as long as you drive at least twice a month. Size is also an important consideration when choosing a GPS tracker. Pegase and Flashbird are smaller than a credit card, making them "mini GPS" products that are easy to conceal.
