To get an approximate AirTag location, an iPhone must pass nearby (10 m indoors), which usually prevents recovering the vehicle, for two major reasons:
- When the bike is moving right after the theft, location updates at best once a minute, which makes tracking and interception by law enforcement impossible.
- Once the bike is hidden in an underground car park (90% of thefts), the last location will be the last iPhone that passed nearby (often kilometres away). Recovering the vehicle is therefore impossible.
Flashbird Air for bicycle is ready to use: attach the device to the frame, place it in a pouch, or mount it under the saddle, then pair it in the app. It charges via USB-C. Do not place it inside the frame tube.

How to choose a GPS tracker?
GPS trackers (sometimes referred to as "GPS tags") are products designed to geolocate and track motorbikes, scooters, buggies, or ATVs equipped with 12V batteries in real time.
Their responsiveness during live tracking is often described as how often the position updates. Depending on the model, Flashbird trackers can update about once per second (Flashbird One and Flashbird Ultra) or about every 10 seconds (Flashbird Air), subject to network conditions.
Battery life depends on the internal battery, whether the tracker is wired to the vehicle, and how you use it: battery-powered models like Flashbird Air recharge via USB-C, while wired models recharge from the vehicle while the engine is running.
Size is also an important consideration when choosing a GPS tracker. Pegase and Flashbird Original (wired) are very compact; Flashbird One and Flashbird Ultra remain easy to hide, while Flashbird Air is larger because of its built-in battery.
